Well Hello there and welcome to our first blog post, grab yourself a cuppa (or perhaps somethings stronger) sit back and enjoy.
I believe it is prudent to introduce the team, aka Chris, Nick & Bailey (okay that's it), Chris is the on the left sporting a beard and lockdown hair he is predominately my glamorous helper, supporter, and one who is good with the finances, unlike Nick (that's me) on the right, also with lockdown hair (do it yourself style) I am the creative nerd behind the creations and of course Bailey, our fluffy puppy Cockapoo, he is as mad as a hatter and honestly just brings us both so much joy (except for when he decides help with unpacking orders and running off with the bubble wrap.)
Chris and I met a while ago, both living different parts of the country, last year Chris upped sticks and moved up to the North of England after we found our dream home literally by chance. Only going to have a look at a local estate agents last Christmas for ideas, we saw a house listing that just grabbed us instantly, a superb Edwardian terraced house, with everything we had on our "wish list" and more.
Impulsively we booked a viewing for between just before the Christmas and well, we just fell in
love, so much so it was a matter of hours and we booked a second viewing (this time to take my parents). Next thing we knew, the offer went in and was accepted on New Years eve 2019 and after a very stressful couple of months (a whole other story) we moved in March 2020, the year everything went a bit tits up for everyone.
The house comprises of an entrance foyer which opens into the hall with stairs leading to the upper floors. Firstly on the ground floor we have our cosy parlour, spacious dining room (which is currently our studio) which has a lovely sunny garden room/orangery/better than a lean too, but needs a bit of work off that.
(Image below of parlour when we moved in)
At the back of the house is a large Kitchen/diner, with a utility area, a handy toilet and shower room, which leads into a large south facing garden. Chris is more into gardening than me, so I don't get as excited about trimming bushes and pulling weeds, as I do about paint charts and textiles.
Going up the stairs there is the first landing which has the main bathroom and a small double overlooking the gardens and moors beyond. Two steps up and you are on the main first floor with two large doubles, well I say doubles, frankly our kingsize bed looked tiny in comparison to the size of the room, so they are very very generous doubles!!! The last room on the first floor is a nicely sized single room, which we have turned into a cosy home office.

Up a rather steep set of stairs (not ones to tackled if you have had to many gins, others wise you will end up rolling down them, over the banister and down to the ground floor where you started)
is a fantastic sized attic room with ensuite bathroom, the views over the moors and beyond are beautiful from this room.
All in all our home is certainly our castle packed with so many original features and with so much space to play with, we wanted to share our journey with you in the coming blogs, by sharing our interior decorations/renovations/styling, tips, tricks and the things that inspire us.
One of the biggest reasons for starting Bizarium was for my passion for antiques, vintage, period interiors and having a background in interior/set design and fashion It was a chance to combine all the my skills and learn some more too.

For now that's a wrap, time for a cuppa, feet up and something naughty to eat. (cake)
We hope you have enjoyed our first blog, I for one, am really look forward to sharing more with you.
Keep smiling & Keep safe,
With Love,
Nick, Chris & Bailey
